Rinku Kumar Gouda began his academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Technical Education and Research, Bhubaneswar. His is pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Systems with a specialization in Multiphase Heat Transfer from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram. His thesis, "Surface Enhancement for Boiling Heat Transfer Through Microholes," demonstrated his early engagement with boiling heat transfer and microscale fluid dynamics. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Boiling Heat Transfer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna. His doctoral research focused on "Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Enhancement with Segmented Finned Structured Surface and Rhamnolipid Biosurfactant." This marked a significant step in his academic and research journey, showcasing his commitment to advancing the understanding of heat transfer phenomena.

His research interests are diverse and include Boiling Heat Transfer, Micro/Nano scale Fluid and Heat Transport, Surface Wettability, and Biosurfactants.
