In 1985, he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic School in Algiers, Algeria. He continued his studies in France, where he completed a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Process Engineering at the National School of Electrochemistry and Electrometallurgy in Grenoble in 1986. Subsequently, he earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse, France, in 1989.
