Magdalena Bogdanova’s academic journey is a testament to her passion for merging scientific innovation with practical applications. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomanagement and Sustainable Development, which laid the groundwork for her career in environmental science and sustainability. She furthered her education by earning a Master’s degree in Tourism Management, where she gained expertise in integrating sustainable practices into the tourism industry. As part of her academic development, she also completed an Erasmus program at the University of Strasbourg, specializing in Environmental Law, which enriched her understanding of regulatory frameworks for sustainability. Currently, Magdalena is pursuing a Ph.D. at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, focusing on the role of biotechnology in wastewater treatment within the tourism sector. Her dedication to blending business and science has equipped her with a unique interdisciplinary perspective.

Magdalena’s professional experience spans over six years in the tourism industry, during which she worked on sustainable tourism initiatives and environmental projects. She also served as a volunteer at the Sofia District Information Point (EU funds), promoting awareness about European Union-funded initiatives, and participated in the World EXPO Milan 2015. Her role with Erasmus Student Network (ESN) International further showcases her commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and education. Her practical engagements complement her academic pursuits, allowing her to address real-world environmental challenges in tourism. Magdalena’s experience bridges the gap between research and industry, making her a valuable contributor to sustainable tourism development.
