Dr. Lubbes obtained his PhD in Mathematics from Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria, in 2011. His doctoral thesis, titled “Minimal families of curves on surfaces,” was supervised by Josef Schicho and examined by Gavin Brown. Prior to his PhD, he completed his MSc in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, with a thesis on The Hyperelliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem.
