Dr. Laya Anjo | Nanotechnology | Best Researcher Award 

Laya Anjo is a multidisciplinary nanotechnologist and plasma physicist whose research bridges advanced material synthesis, cold plasma applications, and environmental nanotechnology. She has led experimental R&D using synchrotron and laser plasma tools and contributed to light source and microfabrication initiatives, while also advising industry on eco-nano agricultural solutions and founding a startup that developed cold plasma nano filters for air purification. Her work spans synthesis techniques such as laser ablation, exfoliation, and thin film deposition, and employs a wide range of characterization methods including electron and scanning probe microscopies and spectroscopies. She has collaborated across academia and industry on projects addressing sustainable agriculture, water and soil remediation, energy materials, and circular approaches to nanomaterial reuse, and she is active in organizing outreach and mentorship activities to support diversity in science. Her scholarship includes peer reviewed articles on bimetallic nanoparticles, graphene functionalization, and metal organic frameworks for remediation, as well as review and editing work on scalable clean energy and desalination technologies. She serves as a regional representative in an international professional society promoting women in nanotechnology and regularly presents at conferences on green nanotech applications.
