Genetic Evaluation and Propagation of Sheep for Resistance to Haemonchus contortus: This project focuses on identifying and propagating sheep breeds with natural resistance to this parasitic nematode, which affects sheep health and productivity. Consortium Research Platform of Agro-biodiversity (Animal Component): Sheep Genetic Resources: This project aims to catalog and enhance the genetic resources of sheep to improve their adaptability and productivity in various agro-ecosystems.

🎓Academic Background 

Dr. Kumar holds a Ph.D. in Animal Biotechnology from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar, UP, where he achieved a First Class (Hons.) with an OGPA of 7.50 out of 10. His Master’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology was obtained from G.B.P.U.A & T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, with an OGPA of 8.2 out of 10. His undergraduate studies were completed at Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar, where he earned his B.V. Sc. & A.H. degree with an OGPA of 8.5 out of 10, graduating with First Class honors.
